Multi-User Google Maps Collaboration on Android

This application allows users in different locations to work together in Google Maps.

The collaboration features in this application include:

  • Video Chat
  • Map Synchronization on move, zoom, etc.
  • Whiteboarding
  • Cursor sharing

When running on Android, the application can use the device’s GPS to share your location.

This is just another example of “built-in” collaboration (go here and here for more). The point is really how easy it is to add these collaboration features to any application, and then to deploy these collaboration-enabled applications to multiple screens (browser, desktop, Android, and more devices soon).

The application is written in Flex 4. The collaboration features are powered by LiveCycle Collaboration Service.

  1. Hi,
will you also provide the source code for this application?

    Thanks,
    Fabien

  2. The application can use the device’s GPS to share your location..

Thanks for putting this demo out there. Very helpful and really exciting to see what’s possible. Just a minor little bug – for the desktop version, when a user selects ‘Email Invitation,’ the subject is ‘Invitation to play Tic-Tac-Toe’ (which is also a cool example BTW).

    Again, thanks for everything.

  4. Bryan says:

  5. Sam says:

That’s really cool… I will see if I can figure out how to actually put it to use. Cheers.

Just amazing ! And so simple to code ..

  7. Matt says:

Christophe, did you use the Google Maps Air API for the map or the map application? If it’s the map application, how do you send it locations?
I’d love to see some of the source for this one!

    Cheers,

    Matt

  10. I don’t ordinarily reply to posts but I’ll on this situation.
my God, i believed you were heading to chip in with some decisive insght at the finish there, not depart it
with ‘we go away it to you to decide’.

  11. num says:

if you could provide the source code it would be great thanks!

  12. jack murtha says:

You should post code for this project like you do for other projects.

  13. Justin says:

But… Google maps over AIR does not function on iOS, right? So this application is limited to only android devices…

  14. musab umair says:

Awesome…. very nice using LCCS and map. Is it possible to share the source code like other project you have done :)
