Don’t miss the “Flex Frameworks” session at MAX

I’ve been working on putting together what should be a fun and informative session at MAX this year. The session is called: “Using Flex Frameworks to Build Data-Driven Applications”.

This is a 3 hour BYOL (Bring Your Own Laptop) session. The idea is to look at four versions of the exact same application: each version built with a different framework by a framework founder or expert: Laura Arguello for Mate, Chris Scott for Swiz, Javier Julio for PureMVC, and Alex Uhlmann for Cairngorm.

Each of them will have 45 minutes to walk you through the code and highlight the details of their implementation. The goal of the session is not to declare a winner, but rather to compare different solutions to the same problem, and for you to identify the framework that fits your application requirements and your style.

The session is described here in the Adobe MAX session catalog.

I hope to see you there. This should be a great session!

Parsley 2 was released too late to make the initial line up, but I’m trying to find a way to include a Parsley version of the application in the session materials as well.

    Hi christophe,

I hope i can make it to max this year, if so i’m not going to miss this session ;-)

I think 1 big one is missing: springactionscript.
I know you cannot cover all frameworks but well, i really like this framework so i thought i’d mention it.

I won’t be making it to L.A. this year, but would love it if Adobe released the lectures. I know we had access to the 2008 ones.

    Hi Christophe,

i am working data management service in LCDS ES. i am trying to do one application to get the data from database and show that in data grid. i have configured data-management-config.xml file with database url, and SQLAssembler. and when i am trying to run the application it gives me error like this

ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property maxFrequency not found on mx.data.DataManagementConsumer and there is no default value.

evenn i set the inbound and outbound max-frequency property in config.xml.
    what might be the cause.

[...] This year, I make team with Cornel Creanga and Miti Pricope, and we will do a very interesting lab: BlazeDS and LiveCycle Data Services in the Cloud. Ever wondered how you can work with LCDS and BlazeDS on Google App Engine or Amazon Services? Then, our lab could offer you answers. Our J2EE and Flex expert resident (Cornel) is leading our efforts to craft a cool lab. At the same time, make sure you have a look at the other labs and sessions (I know for sure I would love to attend this one). [...]
