Hi,

thank you for this tutorial, but there is something that I don't understand. When is the method initialize called, in your DynamicJDBCAssembler ? Because I modified the code to reply to my business requirement, but this method is never call and so my attribute table is never set.

Thank you for your help.

I keep getting error #1009. Outside of Flex I can connect to the mysql database w/ the mysql-connector. What do we do w/ the two files "DestinationService" and "DynamicJDBCAssembler"? Are they supposed to go anywhere?

Thanks for the great helps. Like Spunky (October 4th, 2008 at 2:59 pm) I am trying to use SQLServer rather than MySql. Can you show the driver and url statements for the flex-dynamic-data.properties file?

Thanks

How might this example work with a table from SQL Server? I'm a ColdFusion junkie which automates just about everything in Flex for me, but I'm trying to learn not to rely on CF just to have that knowledge.

What a pity, I can't make this basic sample working.

I've followed your road map and nothing happens.
The only thing which is shown is a message:
"Error #1009: Il est impossible d’accéder à la propriété ou à la méthode d’une référence d’objet nul.” That's it.

I do believe that something is missing, but where I don't know.

Christophe, are you sure that the zip file contains every components so as to enable that sample to run?
My configuration is :
Window Vista
FlexBluider
LCDS 2.6.1 (Integrated with Tomcat)
The server is on and I've placed all your files in the appropriate folder.
Obviously I've created a database in MySql

But nothing happens excepted that message. Anyway

I do believe that you guys are pretty busy, but if you could just give me a tiny help, I'll appreciate.

Regards

Hi Christophe,

I realized that I didn't set up properly the JBDC connector "mysql-connector-java-5.1.7"

May be it's the main Issue;

Could, please let me know how to perform the settings with an environment such as :
1) Window Vista
2) MySQL 5.0
3) LiveCycle Data Services ES with the integrated Apache Tomcat application server.
4) Flex Buidler 3, already installer and JDSK +JRE

Actually to be able to run your demo, I've got to perform some preliminary settings; This why I ask you if you can let me know.

Hi chistophe,

I've tried to run your demo with MySQL as the database.
hence, I updated the 'flex-dynamic-data.properties' so as to get the data from MySQL database and I set up the same fields.

But unfortunelty when running the application I got the message "
Error #1009: Il est impossible d'accéder à la propriété ou à la méthode d'une référence d'objet nul."

Actually, I can deal with french, but the point is what should I check to ensure that your sample works with mySql database.

Thank you for your answer.

Regards
